Anne-Kathrine Bech Rønn graduated in December with a professional bachelor's degree from VIA Design & Business, specializing in Fashion Design. With her passion for Scandinavian style and sustainability,
she is competing alongside seven other design talents to become Denmark's next clothing designer.
"I enjoy working with surfaces, such as weaving or embroidery. I like to assess things, turn them around, see them from a new angle, and create a lot of different samples before I just put something out there."
"We are very influenced by fast fashion (clothing with a short lifespan) – everything moves so quickly. I want to go against the fast fashion trends to show that good craftsmanship takes time and costs a bit more."
If you’ve seen Anne-Kathrine Bech Rønn in Danmarks Næste Tøjdesigner and fallen in love with her sustainable style, you’ll soon be able to get your hands on t-shirts, knitwear, and trousers.
"I’m really excited to see it come out and live on, and to hear what people think about it. Of course, there’s always a certain level of nervousness, but also a lot of excitement, because you’re sharing a piece of yourself and showing something you’ve worked hard on and invested a lot of effort into."
"I still have myself and all the responsible choices with me."
