She is rethinking Danish fashion with her new clothing brand BECH, which mixes timeless design with inclusion. Her upcoming collection is available on Boozt, and we spoke to this inspiring designer about her design journey and how her formative years sparked her lifelong love of fashion.
The world of fashion is constantly evolving, and new designers are at the heart of this transformation. One of these talents is Anne-Kathrine Bech Rønn, a rising star in Danish fashion, who has gained recognition for her designs in a broadcast on nationwide television, where some of the country's biggest new fashion talents compete for a place in the fashion world.
Anne-Kathrine's upcoming collection BECH can be bought at Boozt, and we asked her about the inspiration behind the collection.'The basic vision for my brand BECH is to create clothes with a long life. I strive for this by focusing on good fit, recognizable and innovative silhouettes, well-thought-out details and high quality in both materials and production.
My mission is to design clothes for a wider part of the population by avoiding standardized and idealized body measurements and ensuring that the clothes are used, appreciated and well cared for.'
Anne-Kathrine's journey as a designer began early when she grew up in a creative family that encouraged her to express herself artistically. Throughout her childhood she sewed stuffed animals and this sparked her passion for fashion and craft. After obtaining a bachelor's degree from VIA Design and Business in 2023, Anne-Kathrine founded her brand BECH with a focus on thoughtful, long-lasting designs that are made with care and attention to detail.'
I enjoy diving into the world of creativity, and sitting at a sewing machine is a haven for me. In general, I am curious by nature, and exploring and experimenting enriches my everyday life.'
Anne-Kathrine describes the creative process as lengthy and believes that a well-executed design takes time. This careful approach is central to her brand, where each piece of clothing is made with care and attention to detail.
'The craft is central and requires immersion to create a result that gives emotional value to the person who chooses to wear my design, BECH.My mission is also to design clothes for a wider segment of the population by avoiding standardized and idealized body measurements.'
Her goal is to create inclusive clothes that can be worn and appreciated by people of all body types and sizes. And where does she get her inspiration from?"Aesthetically, I combine Scandinavian simplicity with Japanese references, where the inspiration is rooted in nature, the history of the fashion world and details based on my upbringing," she says. This combination results in timeless styles that both feel modern and rooted in tradition.'
I enjoy diving into the world of creativity, and sitting at a sewing machine is a haven for me.
'For me, it is responsible to utilize the existing resources. By manipulating these materials with techniques such as embroidery and sewing,
I create completely unique styles that have an experimental and innovative aesthetic.'Anne-Kathrine hopes to inspire others to follow their creative passion.
If she has to give advice to new fashion designers, it is that she hopes her participation can show that when you invest time and energy in your creativity, you can achieve great results.'I hope that I can be an inspiration to others, whether it's their first time at the sewing machine or a lifelong passion, to take the plunge and throw themselves into creating.'
Her work is a testament that fashion can be both timeless and visionary, and with BECH now available at Boozt with the first drop in October and the second in March 2025, a wider audience will be able to experience the beauty and care behind her creations. We are thrilled to be able to support a talented designer who is ready to make his mark on tomorrow's fashion.
I hope that I can be an inspiration to others, whether it is their first time at the sewing machine or a lifelong passion, to take the leap and throw themselves into creating.
